It is at this point the very steep descent commences down Due to the weather conditions, low cloud & drizzle, I took the path from the church car park and followed it to the summit, as a hiker rather than a hill walker or mountaineer, I did find the incline quite tough going but, being a determined bugger, I kept going, with a few rests and made it to the top. Turn right, keeping the stone wall on your left and follow the path, with great views of Thirlmere appearing ahead.
